War Footing launch date

AN-WarFootingIt’s been a fine year for Alex, Stephanie and Strong. They’ve been to America, Scotland, Hong Kong and the new world, and somewhere in between young Lady Smith went for a sporting swim. Some of the questions raised in Whitecoat were answered, many more questions were raised, and too many people died.

For Champions readers who have been following this year in the ebook format, that’s all old news… but for those who have been waiting patiently for the print edition, good news: you’re two weeks away from War Footing. It launches Tuesday, November 26.

All five of this year’s novellas will be included in this omnibus, and as a special bonus there is one extra chapter right at the end, which will be exclusively available in print. I’d apologize to ebook-only readers for this special feature, but you’re not missing too much –– just some fun with Alex, Stephanie, and Strong. As far as we were concerned, we wanted to do something to make War Footing a little bit special… because despite everything, we’re still print-lovers at heart.

Jacqui has already written about the special connection we have to producing print books. Don’t get me wrong, ebooks are brilliant, and they’ve been very good to us this year –– more featured listings, a whole new world of readers, the real cutting edge of publishing technology… But I still can’t help but feel as though these adventures don’t become fully real until they reach the printed page.

As years go by, I may well lose this antiquated connection to pulp and paper, but for now it remains strong. That being the case, I look forward to November 26th, when other nostalgic readers like me can finally lay their hands on the stories of 1941, in an old-fashioned, tangible way!
