Iceberg Partners with Skiffy for DC Launch

On Thursday, January 10th 2008, Iceberg Publishing will partner with the Laurier Science Fiction & Fantasy Club, Skiffy, to launch the next two novels in Kenneth Tam’s Defense Command series, The Sinope Affair and The Dark Cruise. Beginning at 7:00 pm in the Paul Martin Centre at Wilfrid Laurier University, the event marks the second time Iceberg and Skiffy have collaborated for a launch.

“We’re very excited to be working with Skiffy again,” Kenneth Tam says. A graduate student at Laurier, he greatly appreciates the support of the Science Fiction and Fantasy club. “It’s always an honor and a pleasure to work with Skiffy –– and they know how to put on a great event!”

Skiffy first partnered with Iceberg for the launch of The Hawke Mission and The Independent Squadron, the third and fourth Defense Command novels, in late 2006. The event was a great success, filling the Golden Hawk Lounge at Laurier’s Athletic Complex to capacity, and drawing a great deal of media and public attention.

“This year we’ve moved our location to the Paul Martin Centre, another great venue on Laurier campus, with a little more room than the Hawk Lounge,” Kenneth explains.

The event is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to drop by. Kenneth will speak and read from The Dark Cruise beginning at 7:30, with The Sinope Affair and The Dark Cruise being made available for sale for the first time immediately thereafter. Books will be available at the special event price of $10.00 each, and any four for $35.00.

Beginning on Friday, January 11th, The Sinope Affair and The Dark Cruise will be available online at Iceberg’s web store. Stay tuned to for more Defense Command news and updates!
